Sorting Technology

Sorting involves recognizing, separating, and depositing a wide variety of components, often at high speeds and in changing formats.

Infotech offers flexible sorting technology solutions that integrate image processing with precise handling technology.

Our Solutions in the field of Sorting Technology

Sorting small parts

Sorting processes are an essential part of many industrial manufacturing operations. Infotech offers specialized solutions for the automated separation and repackaging of small parts, which can be flexibly adapted to suit a variety of different formats and applications.

Further Information

Key Features:

  • Precise separation of small parts from pallets, bulk goods, or wafers.
  • Sorting components into different packaging formats, such as gel packs, blister belts and trays.
  • Specialization in microchips and other sensitive components, such as die sorting.
  • Integrated image processing for position detection and quality inspection.
  • High flexibility when it comes to changing part types and packaging.

Infotech systems are used wherever small parts need to be automatically identified, picked up and repositioned. For instance, they are employed to organize components from bulk goods into trays, or to repack delicate components such as dies. Die sorting poses a particular challenge: microchips are separated directly from the wafer and sorted with great precision into new packaging carriers, such as waffle trays or gel packs, according to defined criteria. Thanks to the combination of intelligent image processing and precise handling technology, Infotech solutions can reliably and repeatedly sort even highly varied components.

Sorting Watch Parts

In the watch industry, the automated sorting of bulk goods is a critical step in preparing small mechanical parts for further processing. To this end, Infotech provides accurate sorting solutions that incorporate quality control and other additional features.

Further Information

Key Features:

  • Separating and packaging watch parts after electroplating, injection molding or machining.
  • Sorting bulk goods into pallets for subsequent processing.
  • Defective parts are ejected automatically via an integrated visual inspection system.
  • This can be combined with processes such as greasing or pre-positioning.
  • Sensitive and delicate components are handled gently.

Following manufacturing processes such as electroplating or milling, many watch parts are initially available as unsorted bulk goods. To reliably transfer these parts to the next stage of assembly or testing, Infotech develops customized sorting solutions that automatically separate and arrange the small parts correctly on pallets. Depending on the requirements, the sorting process can be combined with additional steps, such as visual inspection to identify and remove defective parts, or greasing to prepare the parts for assembly. The flexible, modular system architecture can accommodate different component shapes and cycle times.
